What is GIFT Literacy?
GIFT (Great Initial First Teaching) Literacy is a structured English Language Arts (ELA) instructional plan for Foundation through Year 6 aligned to the ACARA Version 8 standards. The program focuses on the most commonly assessed standards to support student success in literacy development and standardized testing.
Instruction is designed to be delivered in 1-2 hour blocks. Each lesson is taught across two days to allow for deeper understanding, guided practice, and application.
What is GIFT Numeracy?
GIFT (Great Initial First Teaching) Numeracy is a structured mathematics instructional program for Foundation through Year 6 aligned to the ACARA standards. The program focuses on the essential mathematical concepts and skills students need to build understanding and develop problem-solving abilities, and prepare for classroom and standardized assessments.
Instruction is designed for a 50-minute learning period, with each lesson providing explicit teaching, guided practice, checking for understanding, and opportunities for students to apply new mathematics concepts.
